The
PC remote control package will allow you to control
any program on your PC via an IR remote. The software
contained in the package is preconfigured for use
as an mp3 remote control or winamp remote control.
A full version of window's 98/ME/XP/2000 compatible
software is included in the package. For Linux users
freeware software is available at www.lirc.org.
Currently this software does not support notebook
computers with other IR devices.

For 2000 and XP the driver must
be installed manually. The driver is included.
You
must have a free serial port:
Almost all
computers have at least one free serial port.
If you have a 25 pin serial port a converter is
necessary, most likely 25pin female to 9 pin male.
To install the XP and
2000 driver:
Go to Start->settings->control
panel->hardware description.
Right click on the COM port
you would like the plug the receiver into.
Goto properties, Update driver.
Select have disk.
Select the driver from the
directory DRIVER which is in the directory
where pcremote is installed.
Install FastMediaIV over the
Microsoft serial port driver.
Now plug in the receiver to
the COM port the driver is installed on and
run pcremote.exe.
